Dangerous drains is the title of the first post on Manchester Cycling and it forms part of something I feel very strongly about. I look forward to my daily commute up and down Wilmslow road in to Manchester City centre. The sense of freedom that riding a bike to work can not be beaten and doing this in a so called cycle friendly city what could go wrong?
Manchester is a so called cycle friendly city yet dangers that could hurt or in very rare and extreme circumstances kill are lurking on every road.
As cyclists we all know that the state of Manchester’s road system is appalling, potholes and lack of investment make cycling all the more difficult. A wheel, tyre or tube can be ruined in a split second as you hit a pothole that has appeared overnight on your daily route.
